At Coloplast, responsibility has always been an important part of our way of doing business. As a manufacturer of intimate health care products, we know that our success rests on our ability to listen to users and the trust that we build with our customers by acting responsibly.

We believe it is important to be active within our global and local community. Here is a flavour of just some of the activities we are involved in:

Wheelchair Rugby

We are the proud sponsors of the 2010 World Wheelchair Rugby Championships, which take place between 17th & 26th September in Vancouver, Canada.

We are sponsoring the tournament because we wish to give people with disabilities an opportunity to play sport at a high level and because wheelchair rugby is a very competitive and exciting sport.

We work very hard to build close relationships with related charities, such as The Spinal Injuries Association and Wheelchair Rugby. Beverly Everton, one of our full-time nurses, has been asked to take on the role of lead nurse for the Great British Wheelchair Rugby Team. Bev will continue to run and manage her existing territory, but will also attend tours with the team during their build up to the Para Olympics in 2012.

"I am really grateful that Coloplast funded my Master of Philosophy at the University of Birmingham. In particular I would like to thank Sue Kernahan, who recognised my passion for bowel cancer prevention and supported the theme of 'Healthy bowel awareness in the workplace'.

It has been a challenge to complete the thesis and work full time but I now feel it has been worth it. I am certain that the skills I have gained will help and support me in my work at Coloplast. I am keen that my skills for workplace health promotion can be used in my role here and the educational level I have gained will provide a recognition from the health care professionals I come into contact with during my working life.

Therefore, I feel the investment that Coloplast has made in me will reflect positively in my work and private life now and in the future."
